Before the invention of dialysis, people
died if their kidneys didn’t work. Now there are three ways to provide
your body with the services your own kidneys can’t do: two kinds of dialysis
(hemodialysis
and peritoneal
dialysis) and kidney transplantation.
Dialysis is a method to purify your
blood by removing wastes, excess water, and minerals. Transplantation
means getting a new kidney.
There are pros and cons to each option; you need to discuss
with your doctor which is the best for you. |
