TransWeb to Provide Multimedia Web Coverage of First Family Pledge Congress,

TransWeb (www.transweb.org), the award-winning web site about organ donation and transplantation, will be webcasting from the First Family Pledge Congress on Organ and Tissue Donation in Washington D.C., April 14, 1999.

Tune in via the web as more than 200 pediatric transplant recipients from all fifty states publicly thank their members of Congress for supporting organ donation. TransWeb's webcast of the Congress, including digital photos, audio interviews, Real Audio recordings of the proceedings, and descriptive text, can be found at www.transweb.org, and is available worldwide, free, 24 hours a day.

TransWeb's coverage of the Congress is made possible by the sponsorship of the American Society of Transplant Surgeons, and with the help of volunteer "webcasters." TransWeb is a nonprofit educational web site housed at the University of Michigan Medical Center. The website aims to educate the public about donation and transplantation, and to promote organ and tissue donation. TransWeb is available free, 24 hours a day, and is visited over 500,000 times every month.
