Olympian and Liver Recipient Chris Klug Brings Sunshine to the Games

The snowboarder Chris Klug went from winning a bronze medal at the 2002 Olympics in Salt Lake City, to a life-threatening illness and now, thanks to a liver transplant, is on his way back to the Olympics.

Klug came to these 2004 U.S. Transplant Games to take part in the 5K Race for Donation, present medals, speak at the Closing Ceremonies, and lend his name (and considerable charisma) to the cause of organ donation.

His long struggle with primary sclerosing cholangitis, a rare, incurable liver disease and his snowboarding career are featured at his cool web site, www.chrisklug.com.

Klug's presence at the Games was made possible by support from Fujisawa Healthcare Inc. (www.fujisawa.com), which also sponsored this webcast.
