Rules: Meet will be governed by USA Track and Field rules, except as modified herein.
Format:Track Events:
Timed event finals by age group and sex beginning at 8:00 am.
Tentative Schedule of events:
Equipment: All equipment, starting blocks, throwing implements, and batons, will be provided. If athletes wear spiked shoes, spikes can be no longer than 1/4".
Note:Due to the large number of entries, there will be no trials, except in the 100 meter dash. There will be a special 50 meter dash for children 2-5, 6-10 and 11-14 years of age. Relay entries will be accepted on-site only until noon. The East High School track is an eight lane synthetic track; spikes of 1/4" or less will be allowed.
Except for the high jump (which begins at 10:30 a.m.), all field events will be contested "cafeteria style." For field events contested cafeteria style, athletes must report to their event and complete their three trials during the scheduled time.
In the 1500 Racewalk, USA Track and Field rules will be enforced. Competitors will be disqualified for failure to observe the rules of this event. There will be a special rules and information clinic on the racewalk at 7:45 a.m. to assist Games participants.
The East High School Track is a fifteen minute walk from Rice Stadium. Hotel shuttles will stop at the East High School track both going to and coming from the University.
