“From the medicines you pick up at the pharmacy to the most advanced surgery, modern medical care would not be possible without clinical research. Participants may have common or serious medical conditions, or they may be healthy volunteers. People of all races, ethnicities and backgrounds participate, and they range in age from infants to the very elderly.
To make it easier for people to find studies that need them and for researchers to find participants who fit their studies, the U-M Health System created the Engage Web portal including:
- A searchable database of hundreds of studies, including eligibility criteria and contact information
- Information on what clinical research is all about and why you might want to participate
- A Questions and Answers section
- Profiles on Researchers and Study Participants
