Hilary
M. Haftel, MD, MHPE |

Dr. Haftel is an Associate Professor
of Pediatrics, Internal Medicine and Medical Education at the University
of Michigan Medical School. She received a BS degree from Union College
in Schenectady, N.Y. and an M.D. degree from Albany Medical College
in Albany, N.Y., where she also completed residency training before
coming to the University of Michigan for fellowship training in rheumatology.
Dr. Haftel received a Master’s of Health Professions Education
from the University of Illinois at Chicago. She is the Associate Director
of Pediatric Education and Director of Communication Skills and Professionalism
at the University of Michigan Medical School. In addition to her teaching
responsibilities in the Departments of Pediatrics and Internal Medicine,
Dr. Haftel’s research interests include the quality of clinical
education, performance assessment, medical decision-making and autonomy
in the changing medical climate. |
