Event-Recovery continued:

• Her last observation is very helpful and literally rules out Panic.
• Patients with SVT often are aware of abrupt onset, and they also may feel the exact moment of termination, especially with attacks of short duration.
• However, SVT, for example (with a rate of 160) may be followed by a brief period of sinus tachycardia (rate of 130) due to sympathetic stimulation. In this case the patient is often unaware of this change-over and will describe the gradual slowing of the sinus tachycardia. Thus, abrupt termination when present favors SVT, but gradual, or uncertain termination does not rule out SVT.
