There doesn't seem to be any consistent precipitating factors. However, bending, stretching, and sustained exercise have all been incriminated in reports in the literature.
Interestingly, hyperthyroidism and caffeine do not correlate well with SVT, although there is a strong correlation between atrial fibrillation and hyperthyroidism.
The occurrence of attacks at home, and their variable duration is helpful. Panic attacks tend not to occur at home (safe place) or when the patient is alone; and, they are usually more stereotyped, lasting about 20 to 30 minutes, and following roughly the same pattern.
