Setting continued:

• Don´t be disappointed if your patient can´t confirm the irregularity of their palpitation during AF.
• Many patients just notice a fast pounding sensation, and only occasionally are they aware of the irregularity.
• When noted, the sense of irregularity is due more to variations in the forcefulness of the beats than to irregularity of rhythm itself.
• Although there is a strong correlation with exertion, Mrs. Brown´s episodes are certainly not stereotyped as with panic or anxiety. They do vary in duration and setting.
