The words “by the” are optional; the line may also read:
© 2020 Regents of the University of Michigan.
You may use either the copyright symbol (©) or spell out the word “copyright.”
Whenever possible, the list of Regents should appear on all printed material published by Michigan Medicine. Typically, this appears on the back cover of a brochure, the inside of a booklet, etc.
Publishers are strongly encouraged to verify the accuracy of this list each time it is to be reproduced.

“Regents” is capitalized in University usage when it refers to the Regents of the University.
Please note: "ex officio" should be set in italics or with parentheses.
In addition, the Executive Officers of Michigan Medicine should be listed when space permits.

When space does not permit the complete regental and executive officer listings (on a postcard or poster, for example) you may simply include the copyright line.
The Nondiscrimination Policy Statement is provided by the Office of Institutional Equity (763-0235). The Office of the General Counsel says that the statement should be included in any materials or publications that contain general information and are used to “recruit applicants, participants, beneficiaries, or employees.”
As of April 16, 2014, the Statement reads:

This notation must appear in employment ads as required by the U.S. Department of Labor. In instances where space is limited, please use the following instead:
