What is a Pediatric Endocrinologist?
A pediatric endocrinologist is a pediatrician who specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of endocrine diseases.
The endocrine system contains glands, which produce hormones that regulate body functions.
Endocrinologists treat problems like:
- Diabetes
- Growth problems
- Early puberty or other puberty problems
- Disorders of Sex Development (DSD)
- Hypoglycemia
- Congenital Adrenal Hyperplasia (CAH)
- Adrenal, pituitary and thyroid problems.
