The University of Michigan Shoulder Group educates physicians and other health care providers about shoulder disorders, their prevention and their treatment.
Educational outreach includes the U-M Shoulder Symposium offered semi-annually to community physicians who wish to learn more about the shoulder.
U-M Shoulder Group members also contribute to educating people about the shoulder by authoring review articles, book chapters and producing multimedia.
U-M Shoulder Group faculty teach U-M undergraduate students, medical students and residents shoulder anatomy, pathology and biomechanics.
Research clerkships are available to interested students. Students may work in the dedicated Shoulder Group Research laboratory. Graduate students working in the U-M Orthopaedic Research Laboratory may dedicate their graduate work toward better understanding the shoulder.
