Institutional Scholarship

The University of Michigan is fortunate to have several scholarship programs to assist medical students with tuition costs. Some are full tuition awards, and others are partial awards. Conditions and eligibility vary from year to year. Applicants will be advised of scholarship opportunities during Interview Days. One program of particular note is the Dean's Merit Scholarship, awarded on the basis of outstanding potential for leadership in medicine, which is a full tuition award. About 10 of these awards are made each year to incoming students. Other types of scholarships may be awarded based on financial need, demographic factors and/or a very strong evaluation by the Admissions Committee. Roughly one third of the entering students receive some kind of scholarship support.
