Medical and Graduate Students

The Diversity & Career Development Office organizes and supports several activities for the professional development of medical and graduate students, such as:
- Student Diversity Council
- Night on the Wards
- Formal and informal mentoring sessions with house officers, faculty and alumni
- Networking activities:
- Detroit Medical Society meetings

National Association Conferences

We support our medical student groups who are part of their respective national organizations. Some of our students represent U-M Medical School at the national level by being officers in these organizations. Our students who attend these conferences bring back ideas and activities that they have learned and share them with their fellow students. We also seek out the best and brightest trainees from around the country at some of these meetings:
- Asian Pacific American Medical Student Association
- Association of American Indian Physicians
- Gay and Lesbian Medical Association
- Historically Black Colleges and Universities
- National Arab American Medical Association
- National Hispanic Medical Association
- National Network of Latino Medical Students
- Student National Medical Association
