The Michigan Comprehensive Diabetes Center is made up of patient care providers who seek better understanding and treatment of all forms of diabetes. We are dedicated to providing state-of-the-art diabetes care for adults and children with an emphasis on patient education and prevention of complications.
We invite you to learn more about our extraordinary care and diabetes education programs. Our diabetes clinics are actually two entities housed separately: pediatric diabetes care through C.S. Mott Children's Hospital and adult care through the Division of Metabolism, Endocrinology & Diabetes.

Clinical services for adult patients
We offer clinical services for adults living with diabetes and related issues including type 1, type 2, gestational, pre-pregnancy planning and pre-diabetes. Our cutting-edge clinic in the Domino’s Farms complex allows us to offer comprehensive and coordinated care for our patients. The clinic serves adults with diabetes, obesity, osteoporosis; abnormalities of the thyroid, adrenal, or pituitary gland; or other hormone-related issues, as well as adult podiatry patients. Putting these services in one location makes it convenient for our patients to receive all of their necessary diagnostic tests, treatments, and preventive care. It also makes it easier for patients to take part in clinical trials of new treatments, or to volunteer for studies that seek to better understand their disease.
Education classes and support groups
We offer classes and support groups for all types of adult diabetes. Classes and support groups are led by our Diabetes Education team, made up of specialty nurses, dieticians, medical assistants, and educators who are passionate about helping people living with diabetes. Our diabetes education program is recognized by the American Diabetes Association and certified by the Michigan Department of Community Health. The recognition and certification process is based on National Standards for Diabetes Self-Management Education, American Diabetes Association and MDCH requirements.
