The Department of Cell and Developmental Biology at the University of Michigan Medical School educates and trains undergraduate, graduate, professional and post-graduate students in the areas of cell biology, embryology, neurobiology, organogenesis and developmental biology. The history of the department is a fascinating one.

Yukiko Yamashita has won the prestigious MacArthur award

Jun-Lin Guan and Lois Weisman are among newly elected fellows of the American Association for the Advancement of Science.

Bing Ye has been named a 2010 Pew Scholar, along with 20 other outstanding early to mid-career biomedical scientists. In addition, he has been awarded a Klingenstein Fellowship Award in Neuroscience.
