How Do I Get Started?

Do you have a gift for math and science? Do you love helping others and being of service in your community? Then you may want to consider a career in health care.

Since education is the foundation for all careers in health care, your first step should be to investigate which career interests you and then what you need to complete the educational requirements for that job. We recommend that you take a thorough look at our site and the many career choices that we offer. Then go to the university or college site of your choice to learn more about further educational opportunities. If you are still in high school making an appointment to see your guidance counselor, science teacher or someone you know working in the field of health care is a terrific way to learn more.

Another resource that may prove useful in your health care career selection is the Michigan Health Council website. The MHC is a statewide non-profit organization founded in 1943 to promote health education, increase access to health care and examine manpower issues in the state of Michigan. Through the MHC, you will be linked to Click on Careers which provides a detailed description on many of the healthcare careers that we have highlighted.
