Ambulatory care is an exciting field and one that is growing rapidly. Medical assistants alone, are expected to see a 59% increase in jobs between 2002 and 2012 according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. What's more, professionals in ambulatory care can move into higher-level medical administration or further avenues in nursing or other medical professions.
Students interested in becoming a Medical Assistant attend a one-year program in a medical assistance training program which includes an on-the-job internship. LPNs attend a two-year program and must pass State Board exams.
