The American Society for Clinical Laboratory Science (ASCLS) is the pre-eminent organization for clinical laboratory science practitioners. This organization provides dynamic leadership and vigorously promotes all aspects of clinical laboratory science practice, education and management to ensure excellent, accessible, cost-effective laboratory services for the consumers of health care. Membership is open to all persons certified or engaged in the practice and/or education process of clinical laboratory science, including those with an active interest in supporting the purposes and goals of this Society.

American Society for Clinical Pathology:

The American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) is a not-for-profit medical society organized exclusively for educational, scientific and charitable purposes. The mission of the American Society for Clinical Pathology is to provide excellence in education, certification and advocacy on behalf of patients, pathologists and laboratory professionals. The ASCP's membership consists of 11,000 pathologists and other physicians and more than 129,000 laboratory professionals including doctoral level Laboratory Scientists, Medical Technologists, Cytotechnologists, Histotechnologists, Histologic Technicians, Phlebotomists and Medical Laboratory Technicians.
