Biography

Matthew A. Romano, M.D. joined the faculty in 2009 following the completion of his residency and fellowship in Thoracic Surgery and Surgical Critical Care at the University of Michigan. During this time he received advanced training in the surgical treatment of aortic disease and heart transplantation at the University of Michigan. Dr. Romano operates at both the University of Michigan Cardiovascular Center and at the Ann Arbor Veterans Hospital.

His clinical and research interests include mechanical circulatory support for heart failure and shock, heart transplantation, aortic diseases and minimally invasive cardiac surgery techniques.
