The Hematologic Malignancies-BMT Program has established multiple clinical care, basic, translational and clinical research collaborations
that have been fostered by the
environment at the UMCCC. These efforts have led to several intra- and inter-programmatic projects that have resulted in federal and non-
grants, clinical trial and translation research projects and enhanced patient care.

Clinical ResearchOver the past several years, our research has focused on improving effectiveness of how we treat lymphomas, leukemias and multiple myeloma. Drs. Jakubowiak and Talaz developed a combination of therapies for both our newly diagnosed and progressive myeloma patients. Similarly, Drs. Bixby, Talpaz and Donato worked on combination therapy for those with CML.
